We all do it.

👉🏻Walking through the kitchen you nibble off your kids plate.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉🏻You grab a bag of your favorite candy, planning on eating just a small handful while you watch tv and before you know it the whole bag is gone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉🏻You're eating in your car, on the go at a less than desirable drive-thru.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I get it. You're busy.

Here's the thing: this constant, mindless eating is where many people get their extra calories and fat throughout the day.

It's where people start to develop poor relationships with their food and meal time.

We need to take back meal and snack time. No more mindless eating 🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️

I am a yes person.

Most of the time it’s because I’m excited to take on the task, try something new, or connect with a new community.

But some times it’s my ego that says yes.

Because I’m fearful of missing out, think I’ll never get this opportunity again, or get stuck in a mindset that in order to be successful, it has to be hard work.

Getting my appendix out was a real wake up call.

I remember @seekwisdompcw saying that some times the universe throws a pebble at you. Then a rock. Then a boulder (or an angry appendix).

I feel a desire to focus, find space, rest, reflect.

If you’ve ever felt this need but the thoughts of “but I must” or “this I just such a good opportunity, I can’t pass it up” keep you in the grind and hustling, hear this message:

Everything that is meant for you will come. You will never “miss out” on it. It’s already all planned out for you and it will come at the perfect time. So there is no need to chase it. When you are in alignment, you will attract it.

Are sweet potatoes actually healthy? 🍠 🍠🍠

Sweet potatoes get a bad rap because....well....carbs.

The low carb movement has really made it seem like all carbohydrates are bad ❌ when in fact, it's the processed carbs we should be watching out for.

Sweet potatoes are considered complex carbohydrates 💪 which means they come in a bundle with fiber and other nutrients which helps glucose release more slowly in the body.

Showered. Shaved my legs. Had a smoothie. Went for a walk outside.

Feeling grateful for the little things.

Still very much in recovery mode, but feeling hopeful I’m coming out of the dark now.

Thank you to everyone who has checked in on me, helped our family, sent prayers and positive vibes, and offered to help. I’m so in love with my community 🤍

Appendix: 1, Gillean: 0

What I thought was a stomach bug was actually an angry appendix. So glad to have that nasty thing out.

We caught it before it burst and had the very best care at @dignityhealthaz. Thank you to all the nurses, doctors, and surgeons who made me feel comfortable and took care of me.

I have the best nurse taking care of me at home (@gilbertgirldad RN) and family helping with our girls so I can take it slow and rest.

Thank you to all our friends who have reached out offering to help, sending well wishes, and dropping off care packages.

This was a real reminder to be grateful for my health and the ability to get good care when I’m sick. I know not everyone has that opportunity and I’m so so grateful 🤍

For me:

✨Getting dressed up in fun clothes (shout out to my stylist @ristyle_consulting)

✨Being outside doing new activities like a hike or jumping on my longboard

✨Going to restaurants with really good food

✨Showering my girls with fun toys, surprises, yummy treats, and cute clothes

✨Being around like-minded women who are high vibe and lift me up

✨Listening to podcasts (especially the Abraham Hicks podcast)

✨Having a trash TV show I can look forward to like Real housewives

✨A clean and organized space

✨Serving others and seeing how my services can make their lives easier

✨Being a total goofball with @gilbertgirldad, although he tells me I’m not funny (yeahhhh righhhhttt!)
