I am always pleasantly surprised when I go shopping at ALDI and find healthy foods I usually buy at the grocery store–like avocados, yogurt, and protein bars–at amazingly low prices.
Here are a few of my favorite healthy snacks, meals, and treats you can make with the help of ALDI!
Snack Formula Bowls: If you want a snack that will keep you full and provide you with energy so you aren’t sluggish between meals, try my Snack Formula: protein plus a fruit or vegetable. Protein helps keep you full and satisfied while the carbohydrates or sugars in fruits and vegetables will fuel your body so you can take on the day. I love using Simply Nature Organic Edamame Spaghetti, which has more fiber and protein than other pasta, with Earth Grown Vegan Meatless Meatballs. Throw it all in a bowl with Simply Nature Organic Marinara Sauce and your favorite steamed veggies! I went with steamed broccoli and Brussels sprouts but any vegetables will do. (Hack: ALDI has a great selection of frozen vegetables to cut back on meal prep time.)
Chocolate Chia Seed Mousse: Struggle with your sweet tooth? No problem! Enjoy this guilt-free dessert using nutrient-packed chia seeds topped with coconut cream, nuts, and mini chocolate chips.
Chocolate Chia Seed Mousse
- ¼ cup cacao powder
- 4 Tbsp Simply Nature Light Blue Agave sweetener
- 1 ½ cups of unsweetened almond milk
- ½ cup Simply Nature Chia Seeds
Add all ingredients to a mixing bowl and whisk until all clumps are gone and a paste forms. Cover bowl and store in the fridge for 3 hours. Serve chilled with desired toppings such as coconut whipped cream, shredded coconut, nuts, or mini chocolate chips.
